Makery Welcomes the Return of the Egyptian Museum

The Egyptian Museum made its annual return to Makery Down on January 19, bringing with it unique exhibits that illustrated a wide range of ancient Egyptian society and culture using careful research, coding, and making.

The fifth-grade Humanities unit, which was reconfigured this year using tools from Understanding by Design, initially began late last fall — making this display a long time coming! The exhibits were open throughout the day for students of all grades and teachers to tour, with docents available at the start of the day to speak with visitors about what they learned. Click here to see more photos.

Interested in seeing the Egyptian Museum for yourself? Teachers Kelly Hoy and Susan Deemer are planning to make it available in Makery Down during conference days on March 15-16.
