Ruth Parker Returns to Talk Math at Burke's

In 2015, Ruth Parker of the Mathematics Education Collaborative came to Burke's for successful sessions working with both students and parents. After that visit, Dr. Parker is returning to Burke's on October 25 & 26.

Dr. Parker will work with students and teachers on Wednesday, October 25, and then kick off her second day on campus with a Parent Ed event from 8:30-10 a.m. on Thursday, October 26. The session, titled "Understanding Math Education in the 21st Century," will instruct parents on how to help children reason with numbers, why number reasoning is so important, and what math instruction looks like for a 21st-century learner. The objective is to support the child in learning math.

Space is limited for this Parent Ed event; click here to RSVP or visit kdbs.org/21st-math. If you have any questions, contact Lower School Math Specialist Karen Tang at karen.t@kdbs.org.
