Google Takes Students Around the World and Back in Time

A representative from Google Expeditions came to Burke's on Thursday, May 4, and took groups of students on a broad array of field trips without ever leaving the Media Room!

With Google Cardboard and virtual reality technology, fifth graders had the opportunity to travel to the Galapagos Islands, fourth graders participated in the Gold Rush, and eighth graders witnessed actors rehearsing Shakespeare at the Royal Conservatoire — among other adventures. Third graders took a tour of a Staten Island transfer station (augmenting their current study of what happens to garbage and recycling) and then took a trip under the sea...and
judging from their reaction, they enjoyed it!

Thanks to Burke's parent Benji Jasik for making this opportunity possible for our students.
