VIDEO: "The Economist" Film Featuring Burke's Makes International Debut

On the week of December 5-9, CODE.org and Hour of Code founder Hadi Partovi was a busy man. He rang the NASDAQ opening bell in New York, met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and visited Week of Code at Burke's.

Mr. Partovi visited Burke's on Thursday, December 8, first speaking to Upper School students at their weekly assembly, which was themed to the ongoing Week of Code activities taking place, then visiting Open Make during recess in Makery Up to observe Lower School students play self-directed coding games. He was followed by a film crew from The Economist as part of a video series titled "The Agenda," which was timed to release around the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

And now, Burke's has made its international cinematic debut! The Economist released "People Power," the video that features Burke's, on January 17. Click here to watch!

Out of the thousands of schools that participate in Hour of Code, The Economist chose Burke's to feature in this video. We're excited that our robust curriculum in coding and computer-science thinking now has an international audience.
