Exploring all the Colors We Are

Burke's kindergarten teachers developed a unit discussing Race through the Understanding by Design model of curriculum development.

The unit begins by reading a book titled, All The Colors We Are. Through exploration and discussion, the teachers lead the students in conversations and projects about race and the different colors of people's skin. It has been an impactful unit so far on student's ability to honor and appreciate visual differences and the richness it brings to people's lives.

Please see more information about the unit in this kindergarten blog post and in this video.
