Colgate Volleyball Team Practices on Burke's Campus

After graduating from Burke's, Jaleah Hutchison '11 moved on to University High School and then to Colgate University, continuing to play volleyball all the way through. And late this summer, it all came full circle as she and her college teammates practiced in the Burke's Gymnasium!

The Colgate women's volleyball team was in the Bay Area to take part in the Cal Tournament in Berkeley on August 24-25, and the players needed a place to practice, so Athletic Director Ashling Bryant stepped in! The Raiders worked out and ran through drills for about two and a half hours on Wednesday, August 22, at a session that was open to Upper School students who were interested in seeing what a team of that caliber would look like. At the conclusion of the practice, Ms. Bryant presented Jaleah and her teammates with Burke's-themed T-shirts — and Jaleah got to say hello to some of her former teachers.

By the way, Colgate beat Rutgers and Chicago State at the tournament before ultimately falling to Cal, the host of the event.
