Ambiya Bowo

Ambiya Bowo brings a global perspective to Burke’s. Born in Braunschweig, Germany, Ambi was raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, and attended Fay School in Southborough, Mass., and graduated high school from The Governor’s Academy in Byfield, Mass. Ambi earned his B.F.A. from the Academy of Art in San Francisco with a focus in painting and is a practicing artist who has shown both locally and internationally. A devoted father of three: Almira ’17, Jameela ’18 and Aleema '23, Ambi and his wife, Thesia, are proud to call San Francisco home.

Ambi and Thesia enjoy being on campus and spending time with the community. They also enjoy watching the girls grow each day.

Ambi co-chairs the Capital Campaign Committee and serves on the Equity and Inclusion and Head Evaluation Committees.
