12 Month Employee, Non-Exempt

Katherine Delmar Burke School is an independent K-8 girls’ school located on a 3.5 acre campus in San Francisco. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable:
    • Process vendor invoices for check runs (weekly)
    • Process and deposit physical checks received
    • Distribute monthly AMEX statements then reconcile Amex purchases with receipts and record proper budget codes for every purchase
    • Verify new vendor information generate, distribute year-end 1099 forms
  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Enter After-School and Summer program billing into billing system (TADS) as needed
  • Account Reconciliations:
    • Support the Controller and Director of Finance and Operations with account reconciliations, preparation of audit work papers and other projects
  • Payroll:
    • Set up semi-monthly payroll in payroll system (Paycom)
    • Post non-exempt employee timecard information
    • Post time-off requests (vacation, sick, personal)
    • Submit documentation to Controller for review
    • Distribute semi-monthly paychecks to employees, contracted vendors, and year-end W2
    • Enter/manage employee benefit deductions
  • Personnel/Benefits:
    • Onboarding of new employees
      • Provide onboarding package including benefit listing, payroll bank deposit form
      • Coordinate with insurance brokers to manage employee online enrollment (Maxwell Health) of health, vision, life insurance, LTD benefits
      • Manually manage enrollment of Delta Dental and supplemental plans
    • Reconcile monthly benefits enrollment with monthly benefit invoices
    • Prepare TIAA 403b employee contributions after each payroll, prepare TIAA 403b employer contribution once a month
  • Note: duties may change with changes/additions to staff
Skills, Experience and Qualities:

  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and be flexible to changing tasks
  • Desire to be a part of a small, effective team
  • Experience reconciling sub-ledger information to general ledger
  • Ability to work closely with the Controller and Director of Finance and Operations
  • Experience working with confidential information
  • Experience working at independent schools preferred
  • Accounting degree preferred, but not absolutely necessary
