| From their opening day victory over MCDS (team picture above) the JV Green team and Coach Blackburn hit a few stumbling blocks, but overcame all obstacles showing determination combined with fast developing skills. They stormed into the playoffs sweeping through their last three regular season games with ease. Then came the big semi-final game V number 1 seed Hamlin. Going in as the fourth seed we were definately a distinct underdog in that match-up but the thoughts of avenging an earlier loss and pulling the big shock on Halloween only made us hungrier. In what was definately the game of the year for KDBS Volleyball in terms of excitment and crazy intensity we won on the insane scoreline of 26-24, 26-24. The final against SF Day proved one bridge too far for us, however our much improved performance from our first meeting only highlighted how far this team has progressed over the course of one short season. Congratulations to Coach Blackburn and the JV Green team. |
