June Kitagawa Sakamoto '88

At Burke's, June serves as Secretary of the Executive Committee and chair of the Governance Committee.
 
June Sakamoto ’88 is the Senior Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management at UC Hastings Law (San Francisco) where she oversees Admissions and Financial Aid. She is a member of the Chancellor & Dean’s Key Issues team and a member of the law school’s Core Pandemic Response team. She was Co-Chair of the Community Cohesion Subcommittee for the 2020 UC Hastings Law Strategic Plan, and is a standing member of the Faculty Admissions Policy Committee. Prior to joining UC Hastings Law, June was an attorney in the Los Angeles and Tokyo offices of the New York-based law firm, Milbank, as well as the Director of the Temple University Law Program in Tokyo, Japan.
 
From 2014-2020 June served as a Trustee for Cathedral School for Boys as Vice Chair, Chair of the DEI standing committee, and Co-Chair of the Committee on Trustees (Governance). She was also a member of Cathedral School for Boys’ most recent Strategic Plan Committee. June served as a Burke’s Alumnae Board member from 2011-2014 where she served as Chair of the Governance Committee, and she served as an Executive Board Member of the Foreign Women Lawyers Association in Tokyo from 2005-2008. June is currently an Advisory Board member of The People’s Conservatory.
 
June is a native of San Francisco and a proud Burke’s and University High School alum. She earned her JD from Georgetown University Law Center and her BA from the University of California at Berkeley, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
