Lower School: Kindergarten

Application Requirements (Apply, Access Forms and Submit Requirements on Ravenna)

• Step 1:  Sign Up for a Tour and our Curriculum Preview (date tbd) Reservations are required.
• Step 2: Submit an Application (Priority deadline is mid-December date tbd. Families who apply prior to this date are guaranteed a parent interview. All other applications are due early January date tbd, and will be offered an interview based on availability.)
• Step 3: Schedule a parent interview on Ravenna after you submit an application, either in person or via Zoom. We kindly ask that all parents and guardians attend. 
• Step 4: Submit Admissions Documents (due February 1, 2025) 
  • Confidential School Evaluation Form: Please reach out if you need a due date extension.
  • Immunization Form: Immunization forms may be sent from you or your pediatrician’s office. We accept both digital and hard copies.
• Step 5: Schedule the Academic Screening (registration opens in December) - Each applicant to kindergarten will be assessed for Kindergarten readiness through an in-person assessment at JCC Diller. These screenings will happen in January 2025. Please contact admissions@burkes.org if your child requires unique accommodations.
• Step 6: Schedule a Kindergarten Playdate OR Preschool Visit (registration opens in December) - Each applicant to kindergarten will participate in either an on campus playdate or we will coordinate a visit to her preschool. You can choose whichever option feels best for your family. 
•  Step 7: Receive your Decision on mid-March (date tbd) - Admission decisions will be emailed at 12 p.m. on decision day. 

Families interested in applying for financial assistance should submit an application by January 31, 2025. If you would like to learn more about our financial assistance process, we invite you to attend our Financial Assistance Workshop (2024 date tbd).
