We are excited to offer another summer sports clinic option on campus in the weeks preceding the opening of school this coming fall. We will be offering a combined Volleyball and Basketball Clinic for entering the fifth and sixth grades. This is an excellent chance for students new to the Burke's sports program to learn how we do things in Upper School Sports.

Basic Information

Intro Sports Clinic Fee: $320 ($300 after June 10)

Who should sign up?

All rising fifth and sixth graders at Burke’s who have had limited experience in the Burke’s Athletics After School Sports program are welcome to sign up.

  • Girls who have not played basketball or volleyball, but are interested in experiencing either sport to see whether playing on a school team might be of interest to them.
  • Girls who have played basketball or volleyball before, but would like to dust off their skills before the school year starts.
  • Girls who might be curious about Upper School After School Athletic options and would like to get to know the program and some of the Burke’s Athletic staff and coaches
  • Girls who want to get back into the Burke’s community spirit before the school year starts and have a fun and productive experience with their peers

About the Program

We recognize the benefits that our students reap both in skills and confidence through attending sports camps over the summer, and we are aware that not all of our students are able to avail themselves of these opportunities. In this spirit we have been offering an affordable sports clinic on our own campus for our returning Upper School students entering grades 6-8. This year, we are excited to offer a Sports Clinic experience to welcome our newest Upper School girls. Based on feedback of the limited opportunities that they have had to experience volleyball and basketball, we are scheduling the Intro Sports Clinic as a mini version of our regular Summer Sports Clinic. The Intro Sports Clinic is open to incoming fifth graders and will take place Monday, August 15, through Friday, August 19. We will cover both sports during each day so that the girls get to experience both without having to dedicate a whole day to practicing just one or the other.

Each day will be divided into a morning session from 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. and an afternoon session from 1-3 p.m. The morning sessions will focus on either volleyball or basketball, while the afternoons will switch off to the other sport. Students will need to bring their lunch and will eat together and relax from 12-1 p.m.
In order to receive a full refund on any summer class or camp, cancellations must be received no later than 24 hours before the class or camp starts.

About the Staff
