Eighth-Grade Class Gift Continues String of Successes

As you know, Burke's has reinstated a tradition of creating a lasting tribute to its graduating class through a class endowment fund. This effort is organized by eighth grade class parent volunteers. Several gift options were presented to parents at an open meeting on November 2nd. The group voted and agreed to name the fund The Class of 2016 Empowering Girls for the Future Fund.

The fund is a legacy, in honor of the Class of 2016, to a school that has meant so much to the students and their families. It is meaningful for them that generations of girls will benefit from this fund, and that it will be recognized each year in the Annual Report, honoring this wonderful class well after its members have become alumnae. We hope that they, in turn, will someday contribute to this fund, giving back to the school that helped lay the foundation for who they will become.

We are excited to report that the class has surpassed its goal of $125,000! As of May 24, they have raised more than $126,277 with 100% participation. A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to the 36 eighth-grade families that have made this possible!

Thank you also to the amazing Eighth-Grade Class Gift Committee Co-Chairs and Steering Committee. We truly could have not been this successful without all of their hard work and dedication. The Class Gift will be presented at Pansy Day on June 8.
