Interactive Exhibits Take Over the Makery

On the last day of school before mid-winter break, Makery Down became home to a special one-off exhibition: The Medieval Museum.
Students in Barbara Handler's sixth-grade Humanities class created full-blown medieval villages using building materials such as wood and clay, complete with castle, church, cottages and operational watermill.

Visitors could tour the displays and hear more from class "docents," learn about medicinal herbs and spices, thumb through a catalog of the exhibit or even play with a Minecraft version of a medieval village — called "Shromden" — on the banks of computers in the back of the room.
