Family Festival Promises New Attractions for 2014

The annual Family Festival takes over the Burke's campus on Saturday, October 25. This long-running tradition will include lots of traditional favorites — such as the Cake Walk, Haunted House and Pumpkin Patch — as well as a number of new items.
Two new food trucks this year, serving tacos and frozen custard, join returning entries An the Go and DOSA in the driveway, and the Burke's BBQ area will be expanding with offerings such as ribs, pulled pork and barbecued chicken. Parents will also have their own section with the addition of the Parent Zone in the Gym.

One of the most exciting new features is Makery Unplugged, which will bring the imaginative projects housed in the Makeries outside for a hands-on exhibit by the first-grade classrooms. Makers from the Exploratorium will be on hand as well to bring innovative ideas to life.

Admission to Family Festival is free, and medallions good for games and activities will be available for $20. Festival is powered by parent volunteers; click here to sign up for a shift if you have not yet done so! Visit our Family Festival page for more details about the day. Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
