Happy Holidays
Winter break is quickly approaching! It seems like many girls are nearing the end of the application process. That is fantastic! Do not forget to proofread all work and to photocopy all applications before you place them in the mail. And remember, the January 14 deadline is a firm one. You must have all independent school applications and financial aid forms in by this date.
It is also imperative that I have your priority list by January 4. Please send this to me in the form of an e-mail (lisa.s@kdbs.org). In this list, please include information regarding why you believe your selections are a good fit for your daughter and family.
Please remember to authorize SSAT to send scores to the independent schools to which you are applying as soon as you have completed the testing process. If your daughter took a national test, please also make sure that I receive a copy of those scores. Under the resources section of my web page there are step-by-step instructions for completing this process.
Many thanks to Scott Cowan who spent time with the girls last Monday who are going to take the HSPT. His knowledge and test taking tips were quite helpful and the girls indicated they felt better after the session. Make sure you have the respective Lowell and HSPT test dates on your January 2010 calendar.
I will be in town over the break and will check e-mail from time to time. I will not check voicemail. If you need to be in touch, e-mail is the way to reach me.
It is hard to believe we are at the point of winter break; it has gone by so quickly, and smoothly. Thanks to each of you for your hard work on behalf of your daughters. They are fortunate to have such caring and thoughtful families. And I am grateful to be working with such wonderful young women.
Happy New Year!
Lisa
