About Starry Night
Starry Night: Saturday, March 27, 2010
Starry Night is this year's theme for Burke's 2010 Dinner Auction. Starry Night is a celebration of our amazing school and our girls who are its stars. We hope you will join us for this fun and festive night out on the town on March 27, 2010 at Bimbo's 365 Club in San Francisco. The event will feature a live auction as well as an online silent auction, which will allow us to reach our broadest audience ever. Invitations will be sent out in early January, at which time you can purchase tickets.
Be a Star: Why We Need Your Support
75% of the proceeds from the Dinner Auction will be used to support student financial assistance at Burke's. Currently, 22% of our students receive financial assistance that ranges from under 10% to nearly 90% of tuition. Additionally, 25% of the proceeds support our faculty and staff professional development programs, which funds individual and collaborative work on curriculum, educational tools and materials that enhance our academic program. It also funds workshops on topics such as learning differences, reading and writing, multicultural studies, technology, and student social-emotional growth and development.
Starry Night is the result of a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication by parents, faculty and staff. There are many ways to get involved. You can donate items or services, underwrite, or volunteer on one of the many committees. The Starry Night website has links to all of these areas. If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact the 2010 Dinner Auction co-chairs, Evie Davis at evie@matevacapital.com , or Gretchen Hansen Gretchen1024@yahoo.com.
