The girls will have no homework this weekend! (And, they will have homework free weekends until the applications are submitted in January.) This break is an excellent time for them to get a little more work done on their applications. I emphasize a little because I want them to take it easy this weekend.

Encourage the girls to spend some time reflecting on the last few months as well. They have been inundated with information and have much to consider in deciding to which schools to apply and where they see themselves next year. As you shape and finalize lists, send me an email so that I can update my lists.

I must have a tentative list of independent schools to which you may apply by the end of school Tuesday. Thanks to those of you who got me this list last week. It is imperative that I receive this so that I can stay on schedule with the processing of recommendation forms.

On Friday, I posted step-by-step instructions on how to forward SSAT scores to the high schools. The document is located under the resources section of my web page and is titled SSAT Scores—How to send to the high schools. Please let me know if you have any difficulty.

If a student is retaking the test in December at one of the Marin sites, please let me know. There are a number of families interested in carpooling on that day.

This long weekend is also an excellent time for the girls to get caught up on some much-needed rest. The high school search process can be a challenging, emotionally charged period and everyone currently seems a little drained.   Make sure the girls spend time relaxing, reading for pleasure, and enjoying time with family and friends.

Finally, I’d like to thank you all for making the last few months run so smoothly. I normally find time each day to think about what I am grateful for, and some aspect of high school process usually ends up on the list.  I am so honored to work with such an amazing group of young women.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Lisa
