Blue Angels Land at Burke's

The roar of the Blue Angels can be heard over Burke's every year during the lead up to Fleet Week, but this year our school was honored by a visit by Blue Angels pilot Major Christopher Collins. On Friday, October 9 Major Collins spoke at our Lower School assembly and visited kindergarten classrooms.
Major Collins joined the Blue Angels in September 2008. He has accumulated more than 2,400 flight hours and 350 carrier arrested landings. His decorations include three Strike Flight Air Medals, two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals with Combat Distinguishing Device, a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various personal and unit awards.
You may have seen Major Collins this past weekend, he flew the #3 plane -- located on the left side of the diamond formation flown by the Blue Angels!
Thank you, Major Collins, for taking time out of your busy schedule to come to Burke's and help educate, encourage and empower our girls.
