Timeline

  • March 25 - Statement of purpose/ topic due
  • April 3, April 24, April 29 - NoodleTool note checks
  • April 24 - Proposal for writing piece due
  • May 4 - Outline of writing piece due
  • May 11 - Rough draft of writing piece due
  • May 20 - Final draft due
  • May 21, at 8:15 am - Board Due!
  • May 21 & May 22 - Cultural Heritage Fair 

 

Week 1 March 23 - 27:

  1. Get CHP folder with timeline and read through all information including rules with parents. Give parents a copy of the timeline sheet and have parents sign the timeline sheet in your red CHP folder. Due Wednesday March 25th.
  2. Brainstorm ideas sheet in class and at home,
  3. Topic due on March 25th on 3x5 index card with statement of purpose.
  4. Bring books and information from home to research during class if you are using family resources. Due Wednesday, March 25th.

 

Week 2  March 30 - April 3:

  1. Decide on topic for writing piece. Due April 1
  2. Start to research on your topic. Take notes. Bring resources from home. Bring note cards.
  3. NoodleTool check April 3.
  4. Make up interview questions. What do you need to know?
  5. E-mail, interview or call people who will help you with your project. 
  6. Start to collect pictures and other items for your board.

Week 3  April 20 - April 24:

  1. NoodleTool check April 24.
  2. Start to collect pictures and other items for your board if you have not already started.
  3. Make up interview questions. What do you need to know?
  4. Continue to research and interview relatives.
  5. E-mail, interview or call people that will help you with your project.

 

Week 4 April 27 - May 1:

  1. Proposal for writing piece due April 27.
  2. Continue to collect materials for booth.
  3. Fill out plan of action sheet in class this week
  4. NoodleTool check on April 29.
  5. Outline due May 4.

 

Week 5  May 4 - 8:

  1. Outline due May 4.
  2. Continue collecting information for board.
  3. Continue to research and interview relatives. E-mail, interview or call people that will help you with your project
  4. Make up interview questions. What do you need to know?
  5. Rough draft of writing piece due May 11.
  6. Bring your board home this week.

 

Week 6 May 11 - 15:

  1. Rough draft of writing piece due May 11.
  2. E-mail, interview or call people with last minute questions or requests for memorabilia.
  3. Work on your board this week.
  4. Pin items on board before using glue.

 

Week 7  May 18 - 21 - Fair Week!

  1. Final construction of board is due this week. Go over checklist and rubric for board.
  2. Decide whether you want to bring food, wear a costume, have music or use a video.
  3. Fill out "Needs Sheet" in class.
  4. Final draft due May 20. Go over checklist for writing. Look at rubric for writing.
  5. Bring board to Room 201 by 8:15 on Thursday, May 21. You will need a ride to school. You will stay at school until 7PM. Food will be provided.
